Why Wristband
Discover how Wristband solves multi-tenant authentication, by providing the fastest way to onboard business customers.
The Enterprise Ready Auth Platform for B2B SaaS
Wristband is a production-grade, multi-tenant authentication platform purpose-built for B2B SaaS. It accelerates feature velocity by offloading identity infrastructure and delivering the following core capabilities:
- Enterprise-Ready Infrastructure: Scalable multi-tenant architecture designed specifically for complex B2B SaaS environments.
- Accelerated Time-to-Market: Deploy fully functional auth and access controls in hours using flexible APIs and prebuilt hosted pages.
- Reduced Engineering Overhead: Offload the ongoing maintenance and compliance burden of custom identity management.
- Maximized Feature Velocity: Redirect core engineering resources away from auth infrastructure and back to product innovation.
What Makes Wristband Different
Because Wristband’s architecture and data model are purpose-built for multi-tenant identity, authentication, and authorization, its design fundamentally differs from traditional single-tenant authentication platforms.
User Isolation Per Tenant
Wristband's data model strictly enforces rigorous tenant isolation. Every identity must resolve to a specific tenant, ensuring complete logical isolation and cryptographic boundaries between distinct customer environments.

Figure 1: Tenant-Isolated User Model
For B2B applications, this model delivers critical security and operational advantages:
- Absolute Tenant Sovereignty: Organizations maintain exclusive ownership over their user directories. Because tenants represent corporate entities, the organization acts as the primary identity provider, governing provisioning, access controls, and the entire user lifecycle.
- Eliminated Identity Conflicts: Strict logical separation prevents cross-tenant data collisions. For instance, a user registering with
[email protected]in Tenant A operates completely independently of a user with the same email address in Tenant B, with zero side effects. - Guaranteed Data Privacy and Zero Leakage: By maintaining distinct user objects per tenant, you eliminate the severe security risks associated with shared global user profiles. Private user data remains cryptographically or logically siloed, removing the risk of accidental cross-tenant data exposure.
Dedicated Tenant Login Endpoints & Customization
Wristband provides each tenant with a distinct, isolated login page, enabling complete control over authentication behavior and security policies.
- Granular Policy Enforcement: Tenants can configure authentication mechanisms, password complexity thresholds, mandatory multi-factor authentication (MFA), and enterprise SSO connections.
- Complete Enterprise White Labeling: Tenants can use custom branding assets, themes, and dedicated custom domains.
- B2B Commercial Value: White-labeled login pages eliminate co-branding friction and help you offer corporate buyers a native software experience.

Streamlined Tenant Discovery
Because login endpoints are isolated per organization, users must identify their specific tenents at the start of authentication. This mechanism is known as Tenant Discovery.
To reduce user friction, Wristband provides several native discovery strategies out of the box:
- Remembered Tenants: Wristband remembers the tenants a user has previously authenticated into and presents a quick-access list of tenants when they return to the main login portal.
- Email Domain Resolution: Users can enter their corporate email address to resolve a list of verified tenants associated with that identity.
- Tenant Name Resolution: Users can enter their organization’s unique human-readable identifier on a centralized form to route directly to their dedicated login page.
- Tenant Vanity Domains: Tenants can use dedicated subdomains or custom domains. By accessing a tenant-specific URL directly, users bypass the discovery interface and can use deep-linked or bookmarkable login entry points.

Multi-Tenant Session Scoping
Wristband scopes successful authentication sessions directly to each tenant's unique vanity domain. This design yields two key advantages:
- Simultaneous Active Sessions: Users can remain securely authenticated across multiple distinct tenants at the same time.
- Frictionless Workspace Switching: Users can switch between tenants without repeating the authentication flow.

Easy-to-Manage Hierarchical Configurations
To streamline enterprise management at scale, Wristband implements a hierarchical configuration inheritance model. Global security and operational parameters are defined once at the application layer and automatically cascade down to all managed tenants. This baseline reduces administrative overhead while still allowing developers to override inherited configurations on a per-tenant basis to satisfy specific customer requirements.

Granular Cross-Tenant Access Governance
Wristband delivers multi-tenant permission boundaries designed for complex enterprise operations:
For complex enterprise operations, Wristband delivers multi-tenant authorization features, such as:
- Scoped Cross-Tenant Delegation: Authorize administrative or support users to manage a restricted subset of customer tenants without granting global platform access.
- Fine-grained Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Restrict user identities to specific operational actions within each tenant.
- Least-Privilege Security Baseline: Mitigate insider threats and configuration errors by enforcing precise horizontal and vertical permission boundaries.

Fluent & Mission-Driven
At Wristband, we believe enterprise-grade security should never be gated behind a pricing tier. Whether you are a venture-backed startup or a global enterprise, access to the tools required to protect your users is a fundamental necessity, not a premium add-on.
That is why Wristband’s advanced security capabilities, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO), are available natively in the free tier. By removing financial barriers to identity protection, Wristband helps engineering teams build, ship, and scale secure software from day one.
